Open Panel Debate

True to my blog's title I would like to open the floor to opinions about the population problem in the world. All comments will be saved so please post frankly and with no fear of judgement. If this recieves any comments and goes well, I hope to repeat such endeavors with other topics.

Here goes...

The world faces a grave problem in this day and age. The human population has spiraled to over seven billion and continues to increase at a staggering rate. Natural resources are becoming very thin and as a result, increasingly expensive. Due to lack of contraception, need for family labor, and various other reasons, the greatest population growth is found in developing countries. Combined with high prices, the gap between the rich and poor, in the most generic sense, expands every day. The poor increase their numbers and become poorer while the rich get richer and more elite.

My prediction for the future if the trend is not reversed is that eventually, the poor countries will become so poor that they will either become drastic and a great war will start or they will die off without bloodshed. Regardless, the population problem will be fixed, but at a great price.

• What possible means can be taken in order to narrow the wealth gap, keep people from reproducing at such absurd rates, and keep developing countries from becoming dependent on wealthy nations?

• In addition, is there also a way to cure the microscopic epidemics that plague the world without increasing the population?

Jumanji

I got my wisdom teeth pulled today. Before the operation, the only fear that occured to me were that the anesthesia wouldn't actually work and I would be awake but trapped in my body through out the operation. Other than that, I trusted the doctors to the fullest extent.

Before going under the nurse/doctor (the nice one who actually does everything) stuck three pads to my torso in order to measure blood pressure, heart rate, and all that jazz. The most amuzing thing I could think of to do was to awkwardly slow and speed my heart rate while she was fiddling with the machine. She looked at me strangely a couple of times but I didn't manage to get her to blame the machine for malfunctioning. Apparently a change of 15 bpm isn't as impressive as I thought. She was nice though... hispanic.

Going under itself was amusing. They gave me the anesthesia through an IV instead of a mask, which was a shock in itself, and boy is that stuff fast acting. They didn't do the count down from 20 thing, I was disappointed. Instead I just mentioned that it seemed to be taking effect and they nodded and then the precedure was over. The various numbing agents I was hopped up on gave me a euphoric feeling afterwards that had me repeatedly telling people, "That was fun, let's do that again. I've still got more teeth. How badly could I need them. Hahahahaha, let's do that again." My mom was amused.

Since the party I've been icing myself off and on and sticking to the prescribed medicine as instructed and I have yet to experience pain or swelling. Most likely because I have the mutant healing factor. My meals have included banana strawberry blueberry smoothies (later rejected because of the seeds in blueberries), banana strawberry smoothies, and strawberry peach smoothies. It's awesome. And I've toiled away the hours playing Starcraft, the second game (I think) ever that I have put more time into than Sage Frontier). The first is obviously Super Smash Brothers Melee.

For those of you who know me, since I am "SICK" call me and offer your condolences, only to be rejected on the grounds that I am actually fine. Then show up at my house and play board games with me to pass the time because I am "SICK."

:)
